One of my most popular pieces that is a sold out edition is called “nocturne”. It is a northern pygmy owl. After several requests for a new version I made this piece titled “vespers” . Vespers is an old word for an evening prayer or song. I used the same basic design but reversed the direction and improved the depth and accuracy of the sculpting. I also found this awesome branch to set the owl on that is a pruning of our 80-year-old wisteria vine. These little owls are a great reminder of the value of spending time in the quiet and hidden places. They remind me to sing my night song, my own vespers.
