During most of the year on the eastern plains of Colorado doves of several types can be seen. In watching them it is no wonder how they have come to symbolize peace. This bell was created during a difficult time in my life when I had to face some of the dark sides of who I had become. It was a time that seemed hopeless and I had to force myself to work. It is titled “The Conversation” because doves remind me that having deep, revealing conversations are often the only way to come out of dark places. They remind me that intimacy with God and people is the only thing that is truly important. The bell also represents the peace that comes from solitude.
