This placard frame was commissioned by the city of Pueblo Colorado commemorating the journey of Zebulon Pike and the animals he mentioned in his journals as he traveled the Arkansas River through southern Colorado. It is placed on a bridge over their river walk . These photos were taken a few years after it was placed and the finish is coming off the placard. There are bronze sculptures of the other large animals all around the river walk. It’s worth a stop in downtown Pueblo.
