One of the things on my bucket list is to go to Serengeti National Park. I would love to be in a place where I could see huge quantities of migratory animals on an open plain. When I read the Lewis and Clark journals, the descriptions of the American tall grass prairie make me long to see something like it. I am told that the African Serengeti is the closest thing in existence. This bell depicts a pride of lions as well as some antelope on the open plains. I have also maintained my theme of trees by adding some acacia trees. I also wanted to try something that was not American wildlife. I thought lions would be a safe choice because so many people in all parts of the world have an affinity for them. They have so many symbolic and representational meanings and are awesome in every way. The format of the stand is different than what I have done before and I love the results. The balance of the bell on the sweeping curve works well. The stand also represents the tall grass of the plains.
