This is a large-scale version of “elements” which originated as a commission for a woman who has an amazing home near Snowmass, Colorado. It is an off-grid, all “green construction” mansion filled and surrounded by art that she has selected as her reflection of truth. She first saw my work in a gallery and asked for a piece that would be about the four elements, directions and colors. I made the piece to be a reflection of God’s fingerprints on creation and the order that comes from what looks like chaos to us. The stand is made from fabricated steel. This piece inspired my first major public commission, entitled “eight”.
