This summer I was able to take my daughters on trips to Yosemite and Yellowstone National parks. We saw bears in both places and it inspired me to create another piece with bears as the main subject. The bell depicts a bear catching a Coho salmon. On the back are Salish style Native American designs depicting the bear and salmon. The stand has Coho salmon in spawn. The way the fish are swimming across the top was inspired by a sculpture by a great artist named Steve Kestrel. It must be fun to gorge on salmon.
